There was something comforting, yet nerve racking at the same time, when it came to lying so close to Isabella that night. Nathan had never felt as close to anyone before, yet he was growing nervous. Nervous that he would do something really stupid, or some how screw things up. He had many thoughts jumping in his head. Should he kiss her? or should he wait? The worst thing that could happen would be that he would try and she would yell.
His heart skipped a beat as he felt her hand rest ontop of his chest. This made him twice as nervous. There was absolutely no way he could hide it from her. His racing heart was as obvious as light during the day. And he knew she noticed when she asked about it. "Yeah, maybe a little bit," he said with a soft yet nervous voice. "I dont know anyone who wouldnt be nervous when lying next to you," he finished. It was true, that was what made him so nervous.
They were so close now. His heart was obviously racing along with his mind. He just wanted to close the distance and kiss her. There was nothing stopping him now, except for the thought that she didnt want him to. But what if he didnt? Would he regret it? Would regretting be worse than slapping? Or would it completely ruin the rest of their vacation? Oh hell. He didnt care anymore, it was almost as if he couldnt control himself, like he acted on impulse and close the distance, locking his lips on hers.

[[Woo! GO Nathan! [= ]]
Nathan's honesty made Isabella smile. It wasn't that she found him amusing, but that she found his honesty refreshing. There weren't many boys who would have readily admitted being nervous because they were lying with her. She appreciated the admission, and was reassured by it. Lying here in the dark like this, it would have been so easy to get sucked back into everything she had been. But with him here, and so unlike anyone she'd ever met before, it would be easier to keep herself in control.
She was about to reply, when his mouth settled gently over hers. She hadn't expected it, and almost pulled away in surprise, which would have been bad. She let her eyes close, and shifted her weight again so she was pressed up against his warm body. She kissed him back, her lips light and skillful. It was unlike any kiss she'd ever had before. Far more intense, though it was still gentle. Perhaps because of how long she -and him- had longed for it. How many nights -at least on her part- had been spent wondering what would happen if they did? She had never longed for another person in quite this way before, and it made every touch, every moment, far more special than it was with anyone else. She wasn't just kissing another mouth to lose herself, this boy had a name and he was special to her. It made a world of difference.
The hand that she had laid on his chest now slid slowly up to stroke his neck lightly, then slide up into his hair. She tilted her head to the side slightly, allowing the kiss to deepen. Her gut twisted pleasantly with a mixture of happiness and desire. She was so lucky. If only she could keep herself from messing things up, she would be the happiest girl in the world.
The trick was to keep herself from messing up.
