Isabella watched Nathan look around the room with a badly concealed awkwardness. Which only endeared him to her more. She was reassured that he seemed to actually be concerned about what could and couldn't happen here. Ah well, it was a big bed, and as long as she could behave and he could behave, then everything would work out fine. It was behaving that would be the tricky part though. That much she knew.
She removed the sliver cover-thing (dunno what it's called) from their meal, the delicious smell making her stomach growl insistantly. She served him and then herself, then waited again, not wanting to start before him. Good manners were a part of her breeding, after all.
"Enchiladas y cecina."
With the spanish names, she automatically switched to her native tongue. She wondered if the names even meant anything to him anyways. They wouldn't have to her until recently. Once he was comfortably seated, Isabella picked up her water glass and grinned at him.
"Cheers."

Nathan's face went into an obvious look of 'huh?' as she told him what it was. He didnt know spanish what-so-ever so that name meant absolutely nothing to him. She could have told him they were eating poo but in spanish and he'd still dig in. He just had to hope that whatever it was that was infront of him tasted good, and he probably didnt want to know the ingredients.
The tasting good thing probably wouldnt be a huge worry for him because the food smelled so delicious. He was actually anxios to dig into some food item that he had never heard of before. Usually he wanted to know what was in it first, but the smell was so inticing that he didnt care.
"Cheers," he said with a smile, lifting up his water glass also. So the beach was fun, the food smelled great and would most likely taste great, maybe that night wouldnt be as awkward as he thought. He hoped all awkwardness could be avoided, but they were both teenagers, which made it innevitable. He shook all thoughts from his mind at that moment. It was dinner time, thinking could come later.

Isabella couldn't help but giggle at his facial expression after she told him what they were eating. The names had obviously meant absolutely nothing to him, and his confused expression was just too cute not to giggle at.
She sipped her water, then put it down and picked up her fork, digging in to her meal with enthusiasm. She was starving, and the food tasted amazing. For the first few bites at least, conversation was abandoned in favour of food. She ate neatly despite being starving -she didn't want to make a mess or anything after all. Once her stomach stopped complaining and the edge was taken off her hunger, her thoughts returned to chatting.
"Glad you came with me?"
She studied him between bites, savouring the food. She was so far very glad that she had asked him and he had said yes. This night had been wonderful, and had given her confidence in herself and trust in him. It had also caused the development of a soft flutter of her heart whenever he smiled at her, which was new to her. Sure, she'd had crushes before, but since mostly she had used and been used by guys, she had never really been through the whole "butterflies" thing before this.

Nathan followed suit in taking a drink from his glass. Just holding his glass up like that felt weird to him because he had never done something so 'sophisticated' before. His dinners usually consisted of someone yelling dig in and everyone stuffing their faces.
Nathan put his glass down and picked up his fork. Not knowing what he was eating meant that he was going to end up poking it first to make sure it was dead, it was just a strange yet funny habbit. Satisfied that it was edible, he took a piece with his fork and began to eat it. It was really good, he was shocked that he had never had such a thing before. He began to eat rather fast, but not messily because he didnt want to make himself look like a fool. It was just too good to eat slowly thanks to his hunger.
"So far I'm pretty glad," he said with a smirk, breaking away from his food to look her in the eyes. Her eyes were still so entrancing to him, he always had to force himself to look away from the mysterious depths. He was extremely glad he had accepted the invitation, it gave him a chance to get close to Isabella and get to know her better, which was what he wanted to do.

Isabella finished her meal slowly, taking the time to savour the food. She enjoyed the Mexican food, which was slightly closer to Spanish food than what the cafeteria at Izuvo offered. Plus, she didn't want to seem like too much of a pig to Nathan. Guys were allowed to pig out, girls weren't. Much.
"Good."
She smiled softly at him. Every moment she spent with him endeared him to her more. She was growing more attached to him than she'd been to anyone in years, and she knew that he was the person she would miss the most if she had to leave -which she wasn't planning on. Perhaps it was only because he had been nice to her in a way no one had since her mother had died, but she thought it was more than that. His entire personality made her smile. She stretched, and put her feet up on one of his knees.
"You still have to bring me to one of your band practices."
Her tone became playfully acusatory, though the smile never left her face. She wanted to see them play, not just because it was a big part of Nathan's life and she wanted to know him, but because she was genuinely interested.

Nathan ate his food somewhat slow, but not extremely slow. He was a little bit of a bashful eater, which is why he stopped eating his pizza when she sat at his table in the mall. He didnt want to look like a slob, or have her judge him as he ate. It was a strange habit to have, but it was a common one with people.
The food was really good, there was no doubt at that. It was hard for him to stop eating, but he still didnt want to look like a pig. He wiped his mouth off with his napkin as he was finished eating. It was at that moment that he felt her feet up on his knee. That small little motion caused him to smile warmly at her. He found it so adorable that she did something like that.
"Thats right isnt it? Well we'll have to change that," he said with a smile. He had almost forgotten about his promise to take her to a practice. The only problem was getting the band back together. They were still a bit scattered since the last time that they were on break from school.
Nathan stretched his arms up in the air and yawned a bit as he began to realize that it was late and the tiredness just washed over him. He slowly stood, making sure that he didnt let her foot drop to fast and then held his hand out to help her up.

(( YAY ))
Isabella set her knife and fork neatly on her plate, then stretched, sighing contently. She returned his smile, feeling the unfamilliar flutter of what could only be butterflies in her stomach. She'd never felt this way about anyone before, but it didn't scare her. Not for her own sake anyways. It wasn't her that would be hurt by anything they could have together. It wasn't her that would need more than she could give. Despite that though, she would still give it a try, if only he would open the door to her.
She accepted his hand gracefully, and let him pull her to her feet. She loved the way he was so careful with her, taking the time to make sure she was looked after. She felt so appreciated when she was with him. She caught his yawn and grinned, realizing just how late it really was.
"Bed time?"
Isabella was tired too, and wanted to explore the city during the day, so she had absolutely no problem with going to bed. She let go of his hand -which she hadn't realized she'd still been holding- and walked over to her suitcase. She dug through it in search of the one piece of sleepwear she actually owned...and came up with a minor problem. Blushing the slightest bit she looked over at Nathan, grinning ruefully.
"Uhm...could I maybe borrow a T-shirt or something to sleep in? I kind of forgot to pack that...."
In truth, she hadn't forgotten, rather hadn't thought she would need it since the original plan had been two seperate rooms.

((Embrace the long suspenceful waits for a post..lol))
Nathan nodded slowly with a smile. Though the idea of them sharing a bed did make him a little nervous, that nervousness was fading from him with each minute he was around her. Yes he was a little worried about the attempt of keeping his hands to himself, but that necessity he left to her, he could probably muster the will power to control himself.
Nathan was about a second from just pulling off his pants to leave himself in boxers, his usual sleepwear, until he remembered one minute fact. He was never in boxers and he peeled off his trunks after they left the beach. Realizing this, he made his way over to his bad, to grab out a pair of boxers.
As he reached his bag, he heard Isabella ask him a question. He couldnt help but hold back a laugh at the fact she didnt pack something to sleep in. Of course they were supposed to be in different rooms, that probably wasnt the exact way she would want him to find out that she didnt sleep in anything. "Yeah, sure," he said with a smile, pulling out a black ACDC shirt. He had packed extra shirts just in case, which turned out to be handy.
He tossed it over to her and picked up his boxers again. "Dont look over here," he said teasingly, but with seriousness under it. He wasnt shy about his body, and really didnt feel like finding a dark corner to change in, so why not do it there? Trusting that she listened to him, he unbuttoned his pants and slid them off, sliding his boxers back on. Once that was on, he pulled off his t-shirt, leaving him in only his black boxers. It probably made him look a little pale, but the lights would be off soon anyways.
He threw his dirty clothes into a separate bag and turned to face Isabella once again, letting her lead the way, letting her choose a side first.

"Thank you."
Isabella caught the shirt with a grin. She figured that he'd probably guessed that she didn't really forget, but rather just didn't actually wear anything to bed. She had one nightgown for emergencies, but even that was...well...meant to be taken off. It was black and silky, tying up the sides, in truth, not really providing much in the way of warmth or coverage. But she liked it.
"Same to you."
She stuck out her tongue at him when he told her not to look, and turned around. She had absolutely no shyness when it came to her body. Which was not surprising. Years of one night stands tended to do that to a person. But somehow, it actually was important what he thought of her. She untied the strings of her bikini top, letting it fall, before pulling the T-shirt on over her head. It was large on her, but given her height, not too large. It fell past her waist, barely reaching halfway down her thighs. She then pulled off the bikini bottom and slipped on a pair of black, lacey panties. This done, she gathered up her bikini and tossed it through the open bathroom door into the tub. She'd deal with that tomorrow.
She peeked over her should cautiously, just as he was turning around, and turned too. She glanced at the bed, then lept from her spot on the floor, landing right in the middle and bouncing. Rolling onto her back, she grinned up at Nathan.
"I lay down first, so you have to turn off the lights!"
Her tone was light and playful, belying the fact that this might be a big deal for her. She hadn't slept in complete darkness for years. So she definetly didn't want to be the one feeling her way across the floor in the dark. Oh no. She wriggled her way under the covers, then stretched slowly, and lay down on her stomach, watching Nathan.

Nathan stuck his tongue out at her playfully as she jumped into the bed. "Fine, I'll do it this time, you get to do it next time," he said with a laugh, some hint of tiredness riding on his voice as he spoke. He turned in the direction of the lights and quickly flipped them off.
Dont run into anything, dont run into anything, he repeated in his head. That would be a little embarassing, yet it would probably happen. He made his way through the darkness feeling around for the bed. And then it happened. A loud thud as he accidentally kicked the leg of the bed.
He jumped for a second holding his foot, biting his lip to keep himself from yelling out. The pain in his toe was still strong, but he pulled himself into the bed regardless, trying to ignore it. Now his next problem was to not crawl or lay on Isabella, that probably wouldnt be the best thing.
"See what you made me do," he said into the darkness, playfulness riding on his voice and a small laugh following it. "You should probably tell me where you are so I dont trample you," he finished, the laugh still coming through.

"Okay fine."
Her tone was still light and playful. But her, walk around in the dark? That was going to be a big deal. She would play it off though, and try not to get too freaked out. She bit back a soft yelp when the room was plunged into darkness. Her body began to tremble slightly in reaction to the fear. it was so dark. She did yelp in surprise when Nathan walked into the bed.
"Are you okay?"
She hoped he hadn't hurt himself too badly, though stubbing ones toe was painful. She pulled the covers tighter around her body, and giggled a bit at his comment that he might trample her. Her voice alone wouldn't do much good to avoid being trampled in the darkness, so instead she reached out, intending just to tap him on the shoulder or something. But he was closer than she'd expected, and she accidentally planted her hand in his face.
"Ohhh oops. Sorry! I'm over here though."
Her voice held a small hint of fear, though having someone to talk to helped a lot. She moved her hand, returning it to her side, and hoped that that would be enough guidance to ensure he wouldn't lie ontop of her. Not that that would be a bad thing. Just awkward.

"Yeah I'm ok," he squeeked out through the fighting of pain. It was right at that second though that something came out of the darkness and whacked him in the face. That something was definitely a hand. Just the utter shock of it and the darkness around it made him blurt out with a laugh.
"I'll take that as a sign to stay on my side of the bed," he said with a laugh as he finally found his spot and slid under the covers. "Looks like I'll have to protect you from the boogie man from all the way over here," he said, the small laugh still coming through. Saying that was a reflex because he could sense the small hint of fear on her voice, he didnt know where it was from, but it was a way to break it.
He tilted his head to the side in the direction of where he knew she was. His eyes still werent used to the darkness so he could only see her outline, but it was enough for him. He ran his hand over the bed, trying to find hers. He made the move to lock his fingers with hers when he found it. It was strange how confident he was right at that moment, a confidence he never had with any girl before. There was a chance it would freak her out and she'd yell at him, but he was willing to take that chance.

Isabella giggled softly, greatful for Nathan's jokes and constant ability to lighten moods. She loved that he didn't make a big deal out of anything, just laughed it off. Any other guy would have been annoyed at that, and would have been even more annoyed at her fear of the dark. Her eyes began to adjust to the darkness, which increased her fear, because now she could see shapes and they frightened her. As silly as that was, it was true.
She was surprised, but grateful, when his hand found hers. Her trembling fingers threaded through his and she squeezed his hand gently. Impulsively, she lifted their hands and shifted her weight over so that he could drape his arm around her. She'd never had anyone just hold her, and in the dark like this, with him, it would be nice. She was not quite touching him, leaving the decision up to him if he wanted to. It was different for her, too, and because of this it made her less bold than she would have been with other things. Sex? No problem. But cuddling with a guy she liked? It was a new experience, to say the least.
She lifted her head to tuck her hair out of the way, and giggled softly when her nose brushed his. It was so strange, so giddy, and like nothing she'd ever had before. It frightened her a bit, and made her stomach jump in a not quite unpleasant way.
"How about you protect me from here instead?"

It seemed like his heart skipped a beat when she pulled herself closer to him. It was the usual nervous beating of the heart, holding of the breath, mixed with the butterflies in the stomach moment, but a smile still managed to come over his face as he moved his arm around her and closed the distance. The closeness was a good feeling, a warm feeling that he definitely liked.
A small laugh escaped him as he heard her giggle after her nose brushed against his. He scrunched up his nose playfully as his eyes were still adjusting. He could only see very small details, like diferentiating between hair and skin.
"I can do that," he said, his voice soft as he spoke to her. It was basically a reflex to speak softly in the dark, as if you would be disturbing something hidden if you spoke too loudly.

Isabella's stomach did a silly little backflip when Nathan's arm slid around her and pulled her gently against him. Her awareness of every tiny motion was increased tenfold as she snuggled up against him. The warmth from his body and the security she felt from his arm calmed her trembling and she sighed softly.
"Thank you."
Her voice was soft too, the sweet soprano hushed in respect for the moment and for the nighttime. Pressed close as they were now, Isabella could feel the nervous beating of Nathan's heart, and she gently placed her hand overtop of it, her dark eyes searching the night for his -though they hadn't adjusted well enough yet to see.
"Are you nervous? Why?"
Her voice held only calm reassurance and a hint of curiosity. She would never ever laugh at him for anything. Hell, she was in his arms and afraid of the dark. What could be sillier than that? She wanted to kiss him. Very, very much. But that just wouldn't be fair, on so many levels, so she held the impulse in check. If he kissed her, she would be powerless -and totally not desiring- to stop it. But she wouldn't kiss him first. There was too much that he didn't know, too much at risk from opening those doors between them, though they had, admittedly, already been unlocked.
