Character Info
Name: Alex Laterza.
Nickname: Lex.
Age: 16.
Gender: Male.
Year: Junior
Clique: Burn-Outs
Secondary Clique: Loners
Appearance: Alex is not abnormally tall for his age, but he is not short. His hight seems to be very simple, though his limbs are very lanky. Alex has dark brown eyes that could easily be mistaken for black, which is an oddity considering his parents both of blue eyes. His fingers are long, and his hands are big. Alex hair is not one for a style. It is more of a "Cut-it-so-i-can-see" kind of thing. It goes in its own direction or where ever it pleases. Alex skin is not to pale but not tan, he is right in the middle of the two.
Usually Wears: Alex is not one to dress to fit in. His clothing reflects what he thinks, and he makes it into his own look. T-shirts are always mixed with a jacket or some old vintage vest, not what old people wear, might as well be though he made it work. Weird boots and sneakers were something on their own, the boots where always worn with what sneakers should be worn with, and vise versa for the sneakers. He was not trying to fit in, or not fit in with his look, but he tries to do what his mind tells him to. He wears very odd necklaces and belts, but they reflect him further.
General Personality:
Strangers: If you are are someone Alex does not know, he will not talk. Alex already has difficulty speaking to those he trust, but if you are someone who ambushes him with words you will not get a respond out of him. Alex is very shy and very reserved and nervous around others. He gets very anxious around strangers.
Friends: Alex is still quite quiet with friends, though he is still very shy. He does open up for those that show trust in him so he can mirror the trust back in their direction. Though he is coy, he has no problem telling someone what he thinks. If he feels it needs to be spoken, he will not hold back. Even though the words might not be loud, the meaning is.
Family: Alex talks to his family as well, mostly to his mom and his older brother. He shys away from his father because his father would like Alex to be loud and outgoing. Though they both know that is never going to happen, his dad lets him be what he wants. He only trust his mother and his grandfather. A weird mix, but he has his reasons.
Interior Personality: Alex sees the world differently then most, and he does not let people around him know it. He does not trust his own emotions at time, and keeps them in. He does not suffer from them unless they become panic. He feels words are an art form, and wasting them on meaningless things is one of the worst things man can do, so he keeps his words to himself.

History: Alex was born on Long Island New York, August 20th 1990, to his Mother Tabitha and his Father Anthony. Alex has an older brother Andrew who is three years older. Alex grew up in the city, Soho to be exact in a large apartment split between main street and little Italy. It was the one place Alex felt comfortable for a while. He was a very happy child, and as his brother became more outgoing, loud and sports oriented, Alex was babied by his mother. At his birth, he was put in an incubator where he spent his first three months of life. This caused Tabitha to always worry about her youngest son.
As Alex got older, he became polar opposites with his older brother. Alex became more music and art oriented, while Andrew preferred to learn about business. When Alex asked for art classes, Andrew was asking for pre-college classes. This was about the time his father started to completely ignore him. Not out of anger or frustration, he just did not understand his youngest son and where he was coming from.
When Alex turned 14, the family moved into Manhattan. The one place Alex hated. There were to many people, to many car, and not enough silence. He was going to school, and was becoming decreasingly worse. As most of his time went to writing and less of it went to doing any school work at all. But his art grew, he did some art shows. And then he stopped painting as well. His mother suddenly thought Alex was mentally distressed, and started taking him to shrinks. While Alex knew there was nothing wrong with himself, his not speaking only made people suspect that there was. He was diagnosed with every disorder anyone could think of, OCD, ADD, Panic disorder, PST(no one knew where it came from but he HAD to have it), BPD, and they told his mother he was a manic depressive. Through all of this Alex still knew there was nothing wrong. He did not feel depressed or sad or angry, he felt like himself. The one that was true was his panic disorder, which he could only believe.
His father decided the best thing to do was to send Alex's away so he could "Get better" on his own. It took a while for his mother to adjust, but for Alex it was easy to leave. Because he knew all he could take were his words and what ever else he had... and maybe some hope.
